Pulled Bison Sandwiches

A slow cooked bison roast recipe to give you deliciously tender pulled bbq sandwiches.

1 large onion (chopped)
2-3 cloves garlic, chopped
2 cups BBQ sauce
1/2 cup vinegar
salt & pepper, to taste

(Note increase ingredients if using more than 1 roast. 1 roast should feed 4-5 people.)

Place the roast in an oven dish (metal or glass). Slather with 1 cup of the BBQ sauce, the onion and garlic. Cover with foil and cook for one hour at 300 degrees F. Turn the oven down to 200 degrees F and slow roast for 9-10 more hours. (If you plan to serve this mid-day or for lunch, you should cook overnight.)

After the slow roasting is completed, drain off any grease, as well as the onions and garlic and let cool. With clean hands, pick off any remaining fat and shred the meat. Serve immediately or place in crockpot to keep warm.

To serve, cover the pulled meat with 1 cup BBQ sauce, 1/2 cup vinegar and salt and pepper to taste. Keep warm in crockpot.

Serve on sandwich buns with pickles, BBQ sauce and other condiments as desired.
