Grilled Bison Pizza
A great summer recipe for pizza and bison!
1 lb. Ground Bison Burger
fresh basil leaves
2 1/2 cups flour
2 Tbsp. vegetable oil
1 tsp. sugar
1 tsp. salt
1 cup warm water
1 packet active dry yeast
Heat grill to high heat.
Dissolve yeast in warm water. Add remaining ingredients and stir until mixed. Cover with a dish towel and let stand for 10 minutes.
Brown bison burger over medium heat until fully cooked. Cut red onion into slices and prep all toppings.
Once pizza dough has risen, stretch dough on pizza stone or floured surface until crust is thin and shaped into desired size. You'll want a relatively thin crust.
Brush one side of the dough generously with olive oil. Take crust and all topping ingredients to your grill. Place crust oil side down on the grill and cook for approximately 3 minutes. Brush olive oil on other side of the pizza crust once it is on the grill. Using grill tongs, once the bottom crust has started to harden and brown, flip the crust.
Immediately begin topping your pizza with sauce, cheese, burger and basil. Keep the toppings light and do not overfill. Cook with toppings on for approximately five minutes.
Remove from grill and serve.
