Crockpot Bison Roast
A super simple recipe for cooking a lean bison roast in the crockpot!
1 or 2 frozen NebraskaBison.com Roasts (Chuck or Rump)
1/2 cup water
1 pkg. french onion soup mix
potatoes, carrots (optional)
In a 5 qt. crockpot, pour the 1/2 cup water in bottom. Place frozen roast(s) in crockpot. Sprinkle generously with Worcestershire sauce. Sprinkle with dry onion soup mix. Slice onion and place on top of roasts. Potatoes and/or carrots can be placed on top, if desired. Cook on High for 10-12 hours. (see notes)
You can also make an au jus or gravy from the juice in the crockpot.
Note from Jane: I usually put this on before work (7:00am). When I get home (6:00pm), the roast(s) is tender and juicy. I turn to Warm until we are ready to eat.
