Bison Blue Cheese Burger Recipe
Fans of blue cheese will enjoy the flavor combination with a juicy bison burger in this recipe. Recipe courtesy of the National Bison Association.
1 1/2 lbs. Ground Bison Meat
2 tbsp. roasted and chopped shallots and garlic
2 red onions, sliced
2 bulbs fennel, sliced
1 tsp. worcestershire sauce
extra virgin olive oil
fresh ground black pepper
Combine all ingredients except onions, fennel and olive oil and form 6 patties, adding approximately 1 tsp. of blue cheese into the center of each patty. Grill to desired doneness.
Garnish: 2 sliced red onions drizzled with extra virgin olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Grill until tender; 2 bulbs of fennel sliced and sauteed until tender. Toss the onions and fennel together and place on burger.
